Great show at the Sportpaleis Ahoy. The first of many legendary shows at this venue! The last 4 epic Lovetown gigs were here too, as well as ZooTV and the Mofo performance at the EMA's. There were some screw-ups, like at the beginning of Seconds, but overall it was great.
Very enjoyable, but with distortions in some songs. Recording: "When We Were Young" - 4 stars
Fantastic, it wouldn't be a Dutch 80's show without the ole chants, would it?
I really enjoyed this bootleg, there's nothing like a good old 80's boot with a phenomenal audience.
Highlights: 11 O'Clock, Wire, with an extended outro, Surrender, and above all, TUF. They played the song slightly different and it was awesome! They still had to perfect Bad, and in this concert, it ended kind of early.

"My favorite opening line to a U2 album: 'There's nothing to stop this being the best day ever.' In the second verse, innocence admonishes experience: 'Now you're at the other end of the telescope, seven billion stars in her eyes, so many stars so many ways of seeing, hey, this is no time not to be alive.'"
- Bono, 2017
did you know
In 1999, a bag holding personal papers and a laptop computer containing lyrics for the ATYCLB album was taken from Bono's car. Bono offered a reward of £2,000 for the return of the computer. An Irish man returned the laptop after having bought it for £300 thinking it was from a reputable source. He realised it was Bono's when he saw a picture of the singer's child Elijah Bob on the screen, prompting him to contact U2's management.
