Performance

Yet another strong performance from Lovetown, with the band once again improving as the shows go on little by little; however, this one is, in my opinion, weaker than the first night solely because of the peculiar decision to drop Desire from the setlist along with the fact that while Bono's in great vocal shape he seems to be more laid back and conservative with his phrasings going for less embellishments and snippets throughout however, there is a positive in which October is much better than it's rendition at 2nd Perth as Bono remembers the lyrics this time.

Sound

Average sounding recording minus that random quality dip after God Part II, and lasts for Watchtower to Bad.
Recording: "Lovetown Sydney 28-09-89" - 3 stars

Audience

I'm not sure if it's a perspective thing, but to me, they weren't as good as the previous nights, and I only really started participating during the final few songs.

Overall

Overall, it is a strong performance and a good follow-up to the fantastic opening night in Sydney the day before; however, it is a slight step below as while the band are progressively getting better with their musical performances, each shows the odd decision to drop Desire and Bono's less adventurous phrasings tending to avoid the embellishments and preserve his voice for the next night perhaps, and fewer snippets make this show slightly weaker when compared to the likes of 3rd Perth and 1st Sydney. However, it is still a great show and continues Lovetown's greatness for now.

Where the Streets Have No Name
The Unforgettable Fire
Bullet the Blue Sky
Running To Stand Still
