I don't think the band performed any substandard ZooTV shows. U2 were great that night.

The New York crowd are always a passionate bunch
I was living in New York and took the number 6 subway from midtown and got off at Yankee Stadium and actually bought the ticket at the stadium box office. $30 if I can recall correctly. U2 were really sharp that night and gave an epic performance. I remember seeing BP Fallon mingling with the crowd before U2 arrived onstage.
A good friend of mine at the time had $20,000 from a business deal. He used the money to follow U2 across the United States catching a total of 15 ZooTV shows!

The Rattle and Hum album opens with a live cover of The Beatles' "Helter Skelter". Its inclusion on the album was intended by the band to reflect the confusion of The Joshua Tree Tour and their new-found superstar status.
