1. Hello everyone! My name is Edward. I'm from Milwaukee, WI in the USA. I wanted to join a positive and fun U2 forum, and I hope I've come to the right place. I have been posting in another U2 forum for a while, but I'm looking for something a little more positive where I can share in the joy that is U2.

I discovered U2 while watching MTV in 1983, when I first saw the "Sunday Bloody Sunday" video from Red Rocks. Like many others I was blown away by the energy, passion and raw emotion in that performance. Soon afterwards I saw the "New Year's Day" video, and I was hooked. There was no other band like U2 at the time.

U2's music has been a huge part of my life ever since, almost a life soundtrack, if that makes sense! Unlike so many U2 fans, I have only seen them live once, in Milwaukee in 2005 on the Vertigo Tour. We had a General Admission tickets, and got into the inside of the circular ramp going out into the audience. I was close enough to the band to read the "Gibson" and "Fender" insignias on Edge's guitar, and of course to make eye contact with the band several times! I always tell the story of how while I was singing along to "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For," Edge looked right at me, made eye contact and smiled! I had the feeling that he was pleased by my obvious enjoyment of the song!

Anyhow, I'm glad to be here and hope to enjoy posting, reading posts and sharing my enduring love for U2!
  2. Welcome Edward! You came to the right place. There's no more positive attitude than in here, if I may say so. Cool story in that Vertigo show!
  3. Thanks for the welcome! The forum I was posting in prior to this one seemed like more of an anti-U2 forum that really sucked the joy out of U2...and that's not easy to do! But enough of that! I'm glad to be here!
  4. Welcome to the site, Edward! You're home now
  5. Welcome Edward
  6. Hello and Welcome, Edward!

  7. Hey Edward. Things are out of control in Milwaukee these days, I hope you are safe.
  8. Welcome to the forum, this one definitely won't suck the joy out of U2. Cool story about the show, hope to get that close up front myself some day. Enjoy your stay
  9. Yeah, it's pretty crazy what's been going on! I live far enough away from Milwaukee's central city that I don't have to be afraid, but it seems like tensions are running high everywhere, and anything could set something off. Things have a way of getting out of hand quick, unfortunately. Hopefully it starts dying down soon.
  10. Welcome, Edward!
