1. Listening to 'just to keep you satisfied', good tune which remind me 'stupid girl' from Garbage
  2. Got a presale notice saying the band are playing in Sydney this August but, just my luck, I'll be on vacation and will have to pass. Would have been interested in seeing them.
  3. SM,

They get markedly better each time I see them. They also have been playing increasingly bigger venues with each return. A chapter out of the playbook.

    It is worth the effort.

  4. Doesn't Bono tell his son: been there, done that?

Saw them in 2019 (Appelpop fesival) and was surprised by the energy and great tunes, in front of a 200-300 crowd. It felt fresh. So that was really fun. Loved Eli's voice and the basslines.
Saw them again coincidentally, this year in 2024, when they played the main stage (capacity 15.000) at Lowlands festival, The Netherlands. So the venues indeed do get bigger. But the only songs that got some people moving were exactly the same songs as in 2019. That's five years ago. There were only a handfull of fans (mainly teenage girls) at the front row, rest was just laid back listeners. I thought the band was promising at their start, but at this performance I realized I didn't feel anything. Hardly anyone around me did.
  6. I've had tickets twice over the last few years, but couldn't make the shows, so hoping for third time lucky. I preferred It Won't Always Be Like This to Cuts & Bruises, but Eli's voice is incredible, their music is superb, and they're only just getting started!
  7. thanks Inhaler for saving my year, meanwhile U2 is sleeping like a baby…
  8. They came to Columbus (where I live) last week. I bought a ticket and wanted to go very badly. But due to life being a bitch sometimes, I just wasn’t able to make it. I am a 42 year old U2 fan who definitely only knows of them because of Bono. But I genuinely like their music, and I hope they’re able to make a career of it in a time where rock music isn’t the primary genre.

2 of my friends went (also both 42) and they said it was great, and that most of the audience were younger. So that’s a good sign that they’re making a name for themselves seperate from U2.
  9. Sleeping? Have you not been around for all the remastered single and ep’s? The live ep from the zoo tv concert in Ireland? The anniversary of how to dismantle an atomic bomb? Have you not read the news that u2songs shares or what the band have talked about? Larry’s been in the studio. Just because they’re not putting out what some fans feel they’re owed or want doesn’t mean by any means that they’re sleeping.
  10. I think it was more of an MLK song type of Sleep.
