  11. Saw Simple Minds last night for the first time since 1986 - my longest gap ever between two shows for an artist; and was quite impressed. They fulfilled a long held dream by playing the Sydney Opera House, doing two performances, the first at 6pm, the second at 9:30pm. I saw the second and it was a really solid effort given Jim and Charlie are in their mid-60s; they were full of energy and really enjoying themselves. My only criticism is all bar one song (Solstice Kiss) was from the 80s. All good tracks, of course, but a couple more newer ones would have been nice. One thing I'd probably give them over U2 is they have some good songs for audience participation.
