1. Using rear PA stacks for the rear part of a stadium or field means to delay the signal a bit to synchronize front and rear signal for the rear audience.
In Dublin I this rear delay was total wrong and we had 2 signals almost 1 second differing. (My wife had problems to identify any song...)
So it was no typical stadium sound problem but fault by a sleeping sound crew!
They solved this for Dublin II and III.
Don't know if Bruxelles was the same?

  2. I have listened to the Vertigo tour A LOT, as it's my favourite tour. The best AUD shows imo are:
    Rome
    Gothenburg
    Melbourne 1
    Any of the Saitama shows

I also like Glendale 2005-04-15 from the first leg.

interesting. What is most important in your ranking ? performance or sound quality ?

    I particularly like Oakland 2005 11 09 ( Schoeps MK4 + TCD-D8 ) in terms of sound quality.
  4. Great memories of that tour. Ended up travelling to Hawaii for the final gig and still my most favourite gig so far.
  5. Besides Bono crushing Pavarotti's part on Miss Sarajevo, my favorite memory of the tour was seeing/hearing Arcade Fire come on stage to Streets when they opened in Montreal, just like U2 came on every night to Wake Up. Cheeky and fun.
  6. I think I mentioned this elsewhere, but I wonder where Gareth is now,the kid Bono brought up on stage on the Chicago DVD?

    ‘..what’s your name?..’
    ‘Gareth’
    ‘Uh?’
    ‘Gareth’
    ‘..my name’s Paul,but I call myself Bono..’

    A precursor to ‘..Paul’s dead,I’m Bono.Sir fucking Bono!..’ on E&I
  7. My favorite part of the tour, I’m afraid to say, was the Zoo TV encore. Much as I did like the new stuff, nothing could compare to Zoo TV.

I also saw one of the shows Discotheque was performed at….but I was disappointed that it wasn’t Zoo Station.
  8. I remember following this live on @U2 that night. Kept refreshing the page as the show progressed. It was so exciting to me. Got to see the show twice on the 3rd leg. Great memories.

That was a great night. Were you there the next for "Love Will Tear Us Apart"? Arcade Fire and U2 on stage together...man those were great shows...
