1. Sounds pretty damned good to me - in fairness, you could probably pull off a decent Edge impersonation with one damned good pedal, but no taking away from the man if he's as good as you say
  2. forgot to mention Discotheque in the set

    And Desire
  3. vertigo-live and the josha tree are two great tribute bands in Dublin . Both are top class . I seen the unforgettable fire in new york last month . They were savage . Guitarist in unreal . they played two hearts beat as one and went from bloody sunday into please and then back into bloody sunday . Did a dynamite version of wild horses too along with all the classics

  4. It always is; even when the big fellas do it.

Seriously, nice review and great to hear

great band, although they have switched up singers several times over last few years so it's hit or miss, they are based in Chicago but frequently tour elsewhere

  6. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for them then!

I've seen Elevation three-four times. They put on a great show. The lead singer looks exactly like Bono. In fact when U2 did the surprise show in NY right after they released Bomb (I think when they played on the bus, driving thru the streets), a radio station made a rumor that U2 was playing live in Chicago (I was foolish enough to believe them) and went down to where they said they were...only to find this conver band. Ah well.

  7. For anyone in the Boston area for New Year's, there's a U2 tribute band called The Joshua Tree Band--not the same as more well-known tribute band The Joshua Tree--who'll be playing the Hard Rock Cafe on New Year's Eve. Haven't heard them myself, but the snippets on their website sound pretty good.

Both bands are white hot and have great "Edge's" in their bands. All the member in each are great. Listen to The Unforgettable Fire's singer on that snippet of A Sort of Homecoming (spot on!)
  10. I'm going to see U2JT (The Joshua Tree) on Saturday night with a bunch of internet buddies (meeting IRL for the first time - yikes!) I'll let you know how it is.

We're also traveling to the Joshua Tree site the next day for a picnic!
