    Sound Quality:
(1-17, 19): Very good to excellent studio.
    (18): Very good soundboard.
There is some hiss on the early demos.

    Comments:
This is a great collection of early studio recordings. Some of these recordings are from the actual studio source tapes for their early releases, in particular Tracks 1 and 2 are from the "11 O'Clock Tick Tock" single, Tracks 5-7 are from the "U2-3" EP, Tracks 3 and 10 are from the "Another Day" single. The 'War' demos are not radically different from their final versions, but the sound quality is excellent (I've been looking for these on CD for ages - this is the only pressing of them I've ever found.). Track 18 is live, not a demo.
This is the original pressing on this label.

Hopefully they do. More fans need to hear what made U2 popular 30 years ago.

I think to get it out of the way quickly, they'll do a remaster(s) or two every three months. The whole early catalogue was what McGuiness mentioned in the interview - I'd guess this means the 1980s releases (and maybe whatever was recorded in analogue) before the end of 2008 - and possibly into the beginning of 2009.

    So that would be:

    - Boy
    - October
    - War
    - The Unforgettable Fire
    - Achtung Baby
    - Zooropa
    - Pop

Hopefully if they announce details of Boy being re-released I'll submit my cover to four5one and see what they have to say. It's really, highly unlikely they'll actually even give it a thought though - but you can always try and see what happens.

So, within 2 years, I might have 2 Achtung Babies....cool!

The Boy bonus disc is likely to have some stuff like:

    - Street Missions
    - The Fool
    - Shadows and Tall Trees
    - Out of Control
    - Fire (instrumental)

Good thing I missed the Boyzone craze--if there was one.

I've never heard the instrumental version of Fire. Hopefully your list is the one they use.

Some versions of Boy had it on the end of the last song. Believe me, all this is pure guesswork.
  5. id like to have a version of Trever (touch)
  6. hi there,

Strange when scrolling through this topic, nobody mentioned the MFSL remasters yet.

War, unforgettable Fire and JT are already remastered a long time ago.
    They sound excellent!
Anyway, I will also buy the new remasters.

Yep, but MFSL didn't only remaster these albums, there are also tiny rearrangements in certain songs. Also, there's no bonus material with these releases.
The sound is pretty good, I agree. Well worth getting.

  10. MFSL - Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab
The three albums mentioned were part of their remaster program. War 1993, TUF 1995, TJT 1996

Righto. The stuff you learn, but no extra stuff as you said already (and I'm a Native Son now, which I just noticed).

If you pop onto the CzDC Hub then you're likely to get a hold of Early Demos, The Contract Demos and Shadows and Tall Trees.
  12. where the MFSL good?
