1. Hi,

how are all soundboard recordings recorded, or: is it possible to record one's own soundboard bootlegs, just by asking if one could plug his laptop into the mixing console, for example?

    Thanks,
    Doc DamaG
  2. Doubt you'd get very far if you asked. It's tolerated but not encouraged.

As for how it's done, I don't have enough technical knowledge to answer you I'm afraid. Others do though

I've renamed the topic to help get you answers.
  3. You need to gain access to the soundboard to plug in your recording equipment. How you get access to the desk is another matter.

  4. You can illegaly tape them, I think. The life of a taper isn't always sunny...

  5. 'Cause someone probably got hold of them and let it loose on the world or the band may have released them, I guess...
  6. Thank you all for the fast answers.

Then I just record my first U2 concert otherwise, if I can procure a high-quality microfone somewhere.
  7. I read the ALD thing and it seems cool....my concern is if theyre monitored or not. Plus, does anyone know of any good recording devices?

  8. knowing someone on the mixing desk or being allowed access by other means. Bribes perhaps

  9. I wonder if that could help my situation...it's just how much that will convince them lol
