Although I'm not opposed to secret soundboard taps but nothing that would interrupt the actual production.

  2. I watched the show from 404. Though I thought it was because of my location, but that was trouble on the equipment in some of the first half of the show, wasn’t that?
In the intro to One, it sounded like noise was being added to Edge's guitar and Bono's conversation. I thought the intro was enlonged because they waited until it subsided. After that, I couldn't hear the beginning of Bono's lyrics, which must be due to a problem with the microphone too. That was the only missing part, but instead there came "hear us coming"! Very joyful and satisfied with the whole show.

By the way, I heard the Edge’s chorus on some songs from left and the intro sound of UTEOTW from (left to?) right, so I think the sphere must be designed for stereo-sound.

Bono missed the first line of One, and yeah once I sat in the 302 section I could hear Edge a lot more clearly. It's like he had his own feed being broadcasted.
  4. Yes very clearly! Not only choruses but guitars too.
Bono just didn’t sing, not mic cut off? He might not have been able to hear the cue...
  5. read lots of complaints regarding sound at sphere, can anyone elaborate ?
  6. it seems that there were some issues at the last show which have been sorted out before the encore.

Besides that I read only positive reviews regarding the sound, most people said it's the best they ever experienced at a concert.

I can't jugde myself as I have not been there, but especially the low end comes across crisp and clear on the audience recordings.
  7. seemingly a drunk idiot threw a beer towards edge ... taking out the foh mixer ... beer landed just behind edge ... they wanted to switch to back up but were afraid it might take out the entire sound system or something ... so there is the cause for the problems ... stupid drunk f--ks
  8. I admit that I had a few drinks before the show but I shake my head at those who get completely plowed for these sorts of things. That’s a lot of $$$ to put down for something you won’t remember- or have to leave early for.

I’ll get off my high horse now.
  9. If you throw a beer at Edge, which is absolutely stupid, how is this going to affect the foh mixer?
  10. I watched the show from GA. The audio cut out at the beginning of One. I could hear Edge. My recollection--but I could have missed this, I was about the middle of the floor--was that Bono was singing, but his mic was out, and Adam stopped playing because he realized something was wrong.

Shortly after that, some guy passed out on the floor just in front of us, a few awesome folks carried this guy to the back the floor so he could get help, and my wife and I got separated helping to clear the way. When we got settled again, we were a lot further from the stage.

Several times in the show (and at least once after AJ said the audio problem was fixed) we heard distortion or feedback on higher tones. I don't know enough about audio systems to know what it was or even describe it clearly. My wife is not as big of a fan as me and thought maybe it was supposed to be there. But it was definitely audio trouble for this show.

None of this made the show less incredible. But, certainly, it just means Sphere isn't immune to problems now and then. They have to be on top of quality control like everyone else and I am sure all of the equipment and employees being new makes trouble shooting and contingency planning harder.

At the prices of beer at Sphere, he must of been totally wasted to throw any away!

I was nursing my beer back to my position like it was some small vulnerable animal that immediately wouldn't survive if it got within 10ft of another human.
  12. I read on Reddit there was someone who tried to tape audio from the FOH. Thats why the sound got messed up. Het poked in the cable I think.
