  1. I really like the CD because just like JT and AB they got it all right, artwork, song order, arrangements, timing. They are all very "tight" that´s why I love them. On Zooropa I like the title track, Babyface because I listened to it a lot about a year ago when my little sister was very little (even changed my avatar), love Lemon and Stay, The Wanderer is just amazing, Dirty Day is good on record but live is way better, Numb is such a cool tune and the one I really like now is The First Time because I am starting to get into a relationship, true one, not casual for the first time
  2. Zooropa is just great, probably their best album (not "collection of songs", it's not the same), or tied with Achtung Baby. Only 3 songs (Stay, Zooropa and Dirty Day) are just perfect, but the album itself is just brilliant.

    wha's not perfect on lemon? I always felt Dirty Day's mix was too soft.Numb is also near perfect imo.

    The Zooropa intro is the better song intro EVER since Where the streets...

    Babyface could be placed in the middle of the track list... not on track 2

    Numb is perfect

    Lemon is AWESOME

    Stay a great song

    Daddy's Gonna Pay what a strange song. Love this one

    Dirty Day must be played louder

    Wanderer is a great final for this album... totally different from other songs...



  5. It's simply not THAT perfect as Stay or Dirty Day. It's a fantastic song (it was a fantastic live song too, and the link with WOWY remains as one of the bests in my book) with a f***ing great bunch of lyrics, but it's just not "that brilliant", and it doesn't move me in the same way than the other ones.

  8. It's a great album because of the spontaneity of it all!.
    The album is great because it isn't overproduced, but was "thrown together" (in the good sense of the word) during a tour and therefore it's all fresh and original. Beautifull songs are ofcourse Stay, Dirty Day, Numb, Lemon.
    The only bad dissonant for me is The Wanderer. I loath it... I can't stand a U2 track that has a non-U2 member on vocals (even if it is J. Cash...) always skip this track for fear of cringing!
  9. The bang and the clatter to me has always evoked the BANG of a gunshot and the CLATTER of the ejected cartridge.

    To me, the song is about a fractured abusive relationship leading to suicide. If I could stay, but I can't, I'm killing myself. That kind of thing.

    Dirty Day's Junk Day Mix on the Best Of 1990-200- B-sides is everything I want the album version to be: noisier, heavier, more industrial, with more screamed vocals (the "hey-ee" in the "chorus" and the screamed WAKE UP!!!). I like the album version, don't get me wrong, but the Junk Day Mix just shows me how much better Dirty Day could have been.

    I too reacted to Lemon initially with laughter, but now that I know what it's about (trying to reconnect to a dead loved one through videotape, and the implications that video has had on our sense of nostalgia and loss), I think it's absolutely freaking brilliant.
  10. along with AB, it's their most coherent album. i agree with bono's famous comment of it being "their sgt. peppers".

    Lemon is effectively pure genius, providing you "get" and understand it.

    the only track i don't like is the wanderer, it never clicked with me. ah well, 9/10 isn't a bad score.
  11. I find Atomic Bomb to be somewhat coherent. It's very obvious in its intent to be mostly a rock album, at least moreso than ATYCLB. I just happen to think the songs on Atomic Bomb are largely inferior, save for a few exceptions (COBL, One Step Closer, Yahweh, and LaPOE).
