1. First time I heard Vertigo I thought he said, "As bullets trip the sky." I was thinking... what the hell does that mean? Second time I heard it, I figured it to be "As bullets rip the sky." and then thought, ok that makes more sense.
  2. What about Bad? Bono never pronounces the 'k' in 'I'm Wide Awake'. In the beginning, I always thought he said 'I'm Wide Away'...
  3. It took me ages to figure out what Bono was saying in the Bullet talking break - my friend and I used to argue about whether he said 'and I see those spider planes' or 'and I see those spy planes' and then somebody else pointed out that it was 'fighter planes.' I have to admit I thought Bono was bonkers talking about spider planes all the time!

Yeah i tought that for a LONG time !
  6. In "Vertigo", I honestly thought it was "I'm still on the beach" rather than "I can't stand the beats".

What? They vacation in the south of France! Didn't seem that off-kilter to me...
  7. Vertigo was a mess EVERY 1 i know likes it but doesnt know the lyrics lol i had them so wrong i dont even wanna say ... .
  8. ^Well, and it doesn't help that if you got the special edition there was NO lyric book to speak of. And I'm not one to go running to teh interwebs for song lyrics.
  9. at the beginning of all because of you it sounded like "little elves about the place" but its "nothing else about the place"

  10. My only known mistake was on A Little While.

    I always thought it was:
In a little while, Shirley you'll be mine.

    And I thought:
    Who the hell is Shirley?

But it is: surely you'll be mine.

  11. SHAMU THE MYSTERIOUS WHALE!!!

    ...
  12. I always thought it was 'When the night takes a deep rest'' instead of 'When the night takes a deep breathe' in In A Little While
