1. Yes, but why didn't he include 'Laughing in the face of love' as it was quite a complete song?

  2. Sick For Love that's in this compilation is extremely similar. Almost the same song. Take a listen to it

  3. Is this the same a the one Kieran uploaded in the torrent section? Just minus a load of takes?

  4. It's two years ago so unfortunately I can't remember exactly why I made certain choises. I'm pretty sure though I left it out because Sick for Love is pretty much the same song.
But I do remember I repeatetly encouraged people to give a shout if they felt a track was missing or damaged. It was a lot of work on a lot of material so I was bound to make mistakes. Some people asked for a certain version of Blow your house down, which I did include afterwards, some people asked for a certain version of Morning Child which I did not include afterwards because it was 99% the same as the version included, I did not make sense to me. Other people didn't ask anything until it's too late

Oh yeah, Sick for Love is the same song (I was used to seeing that version as Laughing for Love II) - though I like the 'woman' chorus in the 5:37 version.

Your remaster definitely sounds better than the original Sick for Love though, great job.

Since it doesn't look likely that AB will be remastered, would you be able to 'remaster' AB?
Have you listened to the Japanese pressing and can tell any difference?

I haven't listened to the Japanese pressing yet. Zooropean promised me to get me a copy. I wouldn't mind to buy it myself but I'm not sure if all pressings are different so before I spend any money on ebay I want to be sure what pressing I need. I am curious to hear the differences. I was flabbergasted when I listened to AB with top notch headphones: it would be nice if the cd was mixed/mastered in a way any listener with any headphones could hear this richness of sounds.
I noticed your comment in the AB remaster thread, I do agree it would be nice some background details more upgront. But I don't know if any remaster would do that. A remaster basically is a new transfer from the old tapes, not a new mix. (Apparently, the Japanese pressings are a different mix.) So, if the tapes are old, new techniques might bring previously unheard sounds more to the front. But if the original master was done with fairly modern techniques like Achtung, I don't think much will change.
For me, it's a no go. A professionaly mastered modern cd is not in my league to enhance. I would be able to make it louder but to be honest, I don't care: if I want something loud, I turn up the volume.
  7. To avoid misunderstandings - I don´t have the Japanese pressing. I just found this quote...!
  8. I have the Japanese pressing and yeah the sound is very good.
  9. I have the original vinyl and the sound is very good.
