1. I would love to hear an un-mixed version of Pop if you're willing to share that..

    As would I.
  6. Of course, but i,m in vocation right now just with my Ipad :-)... I'll post a link here in two weeks! Ok?

PS: any news about Pop Outtakes from Spain??

As for that 1996 (?) CD, is there a clearer shot - and if so, where would he have got that from besides a private trade? I know there's a red vinyl acetate around with a song 'California' on it I saw going a long time ago. It looked fake to me though.

FYI, follow a link about this vinyl: http://www.audiophileusa.com/item.cfm?record=88151&c=1&kw=Pop

    Anyone?? :-)

Surely the guy has some collection of stuff, sometimes some valuable stuff (general overview here)... But I'm not sure the Pop Outtakes claims are true. This is the supposed CD:

    Early pop sleeve.
  9. Those are some very cool/interesting images.
  10. I'm a huge Pop fan...guess my name Pleasegone gives that away. I remember reading that they scrapped an entire album, calling it crap...which likely was most of what is on Pop, but mixed and altered. Here goes another of my pipe dreams....

    Pop Deluxe:

Disc 1-original album remastered(though it doesn't really need it)
Disc 2-"Diet Pop" scrapped version of the Album. Yeah, bad awful unfunny pun intended.
    Disc 3-Pure Demos of album
    Disc 4-More Demos/Outtakes
    Disc 5-B Sides/Remixes
    Disc 6-More Remixes
    Discs 7-8 Leeds Show
    Discs 9-10 Tempe Show
    Discs 11-12 Sarajevo Show

    DVD 1 Las Vegas Show
    DVD 2 Edmonton Show
    DVD 3 Sao Paulo Show
    DVD 4 Miami Show
    DVD 5 VIdeos/TV Specials/Documentaries
DVD 6 Other TV Performances/10 various bonus live performances

Notice I did not include the Mexico show, and there is a promise on the boxset signed by Paul McCa$hes that there will be no single release with any of the DVDs with an extra
minute or two. He swears that this monster set has all useable material, and that people who like Pop are likely to fork over a lot of money for it.

Box Set will be limited numbered edition of 20000 at $200....and the only new insight will be a 3 minute apology from Bono saying he never really meant that "Pop" was a hangover, and now thinks it is the Party everybody claims they went to.
  11. You do tend to take these to extremes even I've never seen before, don't you?

all fun and games, I suppose.

Those un-used Pop covers are great, I've seen them before. I think the ashtray is the best one, honestly.

U2 are my second favorite artist, which means I can go to pretty big extremes. WIth my favorite, Prince, there are around 1000 outtakes or alternate versions to choose from, and tons of concerts, so I can make 50 disc box sets on prince.org, but I have done so many of them, I'm spending more time with U2 as of late. Even though I thought the Achtung Baby set could've been tons better, at least they have a lot of Deluxe Editions out there. Prince has some kind of hesitation with live releases and his own mind disease against getting remasters out there.
