1. shit, didn't even notice how bad they are. sweet mother of god
  2. So, I went to see this band in Philadelphia last night. Right outside Jersey.
They played a headlining show with Against Me! and Jimmy Eat World at a venue for about 2000ish people. It was a pretty big show.
As they were setting up after Jimmy's set, I noticed that they were resetting up Against Me's drummers (Atom Willard, also played in Angels and Airwaves) kit. Thought it was strange. As the band walked out, Brian came to the mic and announced that their drummer Benny had gone home on an emergency and Atom would play with them with some old and new stuff, with a special surprise at the end.

They played 12 songs with Atom. Following that they thanked him for learning 13+ songs of theirs in about 7 hours, and he walked off stage. Brian then turned to the crowd and said "and now, stools." They brought out wooden stools and played an 8 song acoustic set to close the show. It was probably the most intimate concert setting I've ever been to, and was incredible. What a way to close an incredible week of music, tons of surprises, and just a great week in general.

    Set:
    Stay Vicious
    Wooderson
    Rollin and Tumblin
    59 Sound
    Wherefore Art Thou, Elvis?
    Get Hurt
    Howl
    Even Cowgirls Get The Blues
    American Slang
    Great Expectations
    Stray Paper
    House of Rising Sun

    Acoustic:
    Dark Places (absolutely brilliant)
    Have Mercy
    Navesink Banks
    She Loves You
    Break Your Heart
    High Lonesome
Blue Jeans and White T Shirts
    1930

Wow sounds great. My 3rd favourite band. I've seen them live a few times - most recently in Birmingham last year, next time will be June 8th in Dublin

Enjoy it! I actually saw them earlier this year again in Richmond, was another great gig... they played over half of Sink or Swim which was a real treat!
  6. I saw them in Edinburgh at the end of last year and they were sensational. No encores, just 90 minutes of straight-up rock n' roll. Seeing them at Leeds Festival in August - can't wait!

  8. Roll on Monday night. Now there's a band that know how to rotate setlists
  9. I don't remember in which thread there was a discussion about modern bands and The Gaslight Anthem was mentioned among others.

I have never listened to them before, so I decided to give it a shot an hour ago and youtubed the album Get Hurt. God I loved it. Welcome The Gaslight Anthem to my shortlist of favourite bands.

There were at least a couple of songs where I really thought I was listening The Killers, though (nothing wrong with it).

  11. Speaking of which, man I love Festival Proshot Season

Too similar shows cause they were within days of eachother, but still have some great tracks.
If any one could rip the audio, and separate the tracks and upload them, it would be much appreciated (I'm afraid that falls out of my area of expertise)
  12. My third favourite live act after U2 & Bruce. I've only seen them 6 times but man they're amazing !!!
