1. There is a topic called 'they beauty of vinyl'. Why don't we start all topics (if possible) with 'the beauty of..'. This is a site for fans, so you generally expect a positive vibe in the topics. There's nothing wrong with a bit of critisism here and there, but some just bring it in a very unfortunate way. If you don't like a song or a album, just say it once, but trying to convince others it's not good or keep expressing your disgust is just a tiny bit sad. Maybe the songs are still good, but you're just getting old. I think a lot of people underestimate changes in their own lifes and nostalgia having a big influence on how they appreciate (new) music.

Whilst I don’t think every topic has to have a positive title I agree with the idea in principal about not going over the top with negativity. However in practice this is the internet and people are allowed to express any opinion they want (within certain boundaries). Only thing people can do if they don’t like it is respond with more positive commments or have a sensible debate about stuff, but it’s only opinions anyway so whilst on here I can passionately defend the band at times it’s not a big deal if someone has a totally opposite view of something to me.

yes, that's a good theory, but in reality people just get upset sometimes when there's too much whining.

    Wonderful.

Yeah, we can passionately defend our standpoints without saying that others are wrong.

Real talk, we should totally open that General Thoughts on Opinions thread.

To be sure: those boundaries are stated in the house rules: https://u2start.com/help/by-category/houserules/#article

For the rest: opinions are indeed nothing more than personal and subjective views. And there is a difference between bashing and being critical. And what is negative for some, may be positive for others. Just try to be respectful to one another and ...eh... remember that it is a U2 fan website and we're all trying to do the best we can.

Wouw.... imagine that someone from the band really wants to retire... just after we all fought for our tickets...

i guess I just have that old school mentality... if I don't like the thread, I ignore it. no sense getting my blood pressure out of whack at my age...

  8. maybe it'll help sell the remaing US tickets if the bucket list brigade think this might be the last chance to see the band and tick them off their list

I love that these shows aren’t sold out. I’m sorry but they can fuck off with the ticket prices.
  10. They probably still stand to make the same or more money in comparison to the I&E tour when you take into account the price variation. Maybe just going to put off the casual fans who can take it or leave it while most of the die hards will have maybe opted to see less shows or been able to get the cheaper tickets.
  11. Speculation you’re an asshole for making this topic.
