Tour: Experience and Innocence tour
Songs played: 26
Audio recordings: 1
  1. Preferred tonight to last night. Not really any particular reason, just felt the crowd was more engaged. Have some obvious setlist complaints, especially compared to ie tour, but I get they're trying to really push a message for this one. Glad I did both nights and was able to do one in GA and one in the stands. They've finally come close to mastering arena sound. Sounded fantastic up in the 400s. Tape coming shortly...

    Pros:
    - LIAWHL -> Blackout -> Lights of Home was a great, energetic start to the show with great visuals!
    - I Will Follow/Gloria were a good follow-up.
    - The Ocean into Iris. Didn't expect either of these. What a cool transition.
    - Iris through UTEOTW the abbreviated snippet of the I+E show (a tour which I missed out on, so it was nice to hear).
    - The narrative aspect of the show (incl. HMTMKMKM with animations)
    - Elevation through ACROBAT (!!!!) was probably my favorite section of the show. Three crowd pleasers, the return of Mr. MacPhisto, and FUCKING ACROBAT I was just hyped up. My poor girlfriend had to endure me screaming the lyrics to Acrobat in her ear
    - Pop representation.
    - COBL as a closer. What a great usage for it! (Felt like it should have been a certain JT song though in its place)
    - 13 as a closer. What a beautiful song. And the lightbulb going down into the little house... beautiful!

    Cons:
    - Placement of Beautiful Day. It seemed a little awkward sandwiched between a bunch of early U2 songs. Would have been better place near Pride/COBL or the encore.
    - You're the Best Thing About Me. I actually didn't mind the arrangement, but I just don't care for the song that much.
    - Get Out of Your Own Way & American Soul. I understand these are the singles but they just felt so damn out of place. I get that they go with the message established in SATS/Pride but they would go much better earlier on in the show.
    - Lame encore. One is a good song, Love is Bigger is meh. The encore was just so boring. It just needed one awesome song to kick it off and it would have been better. (like Streets...)
    - Lack of songs from the Joshua Tree. The end of the concert suffered without Streets or With or Without You or even Bullet. There wasn't as much heart or emotion for the songs they chose to round out the main set or the encore.

Overall, great night and I'm thrilled to (possibly) be getting a DVD of it!

Cheers everyone and glad to be back after self imposed exile!

Earlier in the tour they had BD after Lights of Home and that's how I saw it in Vegas.... although the band didn't feel it worked there, this is where I disagree.... I think the opening of BD comes connects to the end of LOH and was fantastic..... and then the IWF, RFD, ABOY, Gloria songs that I heard fit in even better.
  3. Now that they’ve done the dvd hopefully they’ll loosen the shackles on this set list now. Maybe I’m just dreaming out loud!
  4. Seriously? Are these the kind of cameras used for the DVD filming...? That's some oldskool for ya...

  5. Hahaha, WTF. I guess that's just one of Corbjin's vintage cameras... Otherwise it's indeed very oldskool and not really 4K I'm afraid!
  6. I'll take film over digital anyday. Film is better resolution than 4k
  7. Cool, i like old skool stuff
  8. I'll take Corbijn's footage over any other footage

Perhaps Hoytema & Corbijn are both involved...

    Yes, that's a pipe dream.
