1. Pop Muzik- Mofo - I will follow was a very kickass opening.adrenaline flowing.a slap in the face
The Zoo Tv opening was good but a bit slow in my opinion kinda crescendo of feelings
Personally I loved the introduction of Zoo but PopMart kicked ass ( not being my fav tour )
  2. JT2017 was a pretty powerful opening too.
  3. As JT 1987

  4. What do you guys not like about the revisits? I always thought they were good. I like the added drums on SATS and I enjoy the Elevation era vocals and added guitar on the new mix. Just askin, I sometimes see posts with similar points of view with what you’re saying about the new mixes.
  5. Love the new mixes

I’m not a huge fan of the best of versions mainly because they sound exactly as you could describe them a ‘reworking’, they don’t sound fresh to my ears, it’s clear they’ve went over an old song and I think the changes make the songs sound a little weaker overall. SATS and Gone in particular bother me as I like them exactly how they are on the album. Discotheque and Numb I don’t mind so much as an alternative listen.

Agreed. I do like the live performances of "Gone" and "Discotheque" so I can see why they wanted to try and update those songs for the "Best of" album, but I still think when comparing the actual albums that the originals sound superior.

The only songs that actually needed work yet from Pop to my ears are If God Will Send His Angels and Please, and they did improve upon those for the single versions, I thought. Otherwise, the "New Mixes" I don't ever listen to on album.
  8. Do You Feel Loved is soooooo good every time I listen to it I wish it was played more
  9. I really never to the reworked versions. I often listen to Pop from start to finish, though.
  10. The reworked version of Please was so much better than the original the guitar solo is fantastic ,it was a strange song to release as a single as it deals with such a heavy subject but it was at a time when relations in the North of IRELAND were beginning to thaw and politicians from both sides were starting to sit down and talk .I still think given an opportunity they would go back in to the studio and re work POP they were never satisfied with the finished product and even live it took them a few months to settle on arrangements they were happy with.
  11. Been watching and listening to a lot of POP stuff lately-Year of, album, POPMART, etc. Such a great era. Band was so cool then. Those raw early POP shows are great to listen to now although a bit under rehearsed and is voice isn’t the best, still great to listen to as full of energy.
  12. Yep, I like the single version of Please, too. At least the bass is in the right key throughout.
