1. people here hates elevation because of the lyrics? I consider the instrumental interesting, and the opening with Influx Remix is amazing imo

I personally don’t hate the song but I just don’t think it’s that good either. It’s far from there most inspiring work lyrically or musically. The influx intro does seem to add a little bit to it although I thought it was done quite poorly last year in comparison to the elevation tour, they had too much of a pause before the band kicked in whereas in the elevation tour there was still the pause but then it built up again slightly with ‘soul, the goal is elevation lyrics’ right before the band came in. Subtle but made a massive difference to how the song kicked in.

the fact that the E+I version isn't better than the elevation tour, i agree, but, many others songs nowadays isn't as good than older versions, i want to know the exactly reason to people say that elevation is a shame.

Well for me personally there’s just not much to get excited about with it, the lyrics and music do nothing for me it’s all very bland. Sure, the edge has found a cool little effect but the use of it is uninspiring.
  5. I loved Elevation on the EI tour. I'm not ashamed to say that for me it was actually one of the highlights. The footage of them on the screen walking out accompanied with the ooooh/soooul always got the arena rocking.
  6. It's a disjunctive song. Probably the worst lyrics from their whole discography, and probably the funniest song to enjoy live.

But who needs lyrics anyway with such an awesome title: ELEVATION

I mean, just the word "elevation" already legitimizes any following outing after it...
The rest is just all Spielerei, as we say in Holland...

The word was so cool, they designed a whole tour around it... And then they tried it again with the word "vertigo,"
but that wasn't as half as cool....so they all gone "360" after that and the rest is all innocence & experience
    (or experience & innocence...whatever )

Hahaha, yes indeed. I'd be happier with the song if it just repeated Elevation, Elevation, Elevation just like Scarlet's lyrics But the mole diggin' in a hole, I and I in the sky, excavation... No thanks

but more or less intentional... it was never meant to be at the same level as Bad, Sunday Bloody Sunday or Walk On.. I'm more worried about songs that try to be as good as their best, but hopelessly fail.. there are not many, but City Of Blinding Lights maybe is the best example of that.
  10. I especially loved hearing Elevation on the last tour because they started it out with some Indian tabla type sounds and it was really GROOVY!

The Influx Mix, also used as the intro on the Elevation tour. I agree, it is excellent!
