They would put it in long ways anyway, not the width. That is what they did when the Vertigo Stadium stage was set up there in 2006. It would fit easily.

Apologies not familiar with the stadium layout, but surely that would eat massively into ticket sales?

From the point of view that more sections would be closed off, if they are using the giant screen from the JT tour.

It is done that way quite often actually.
Saitema 2006 (like a stadium show in an arena)

    Nice 2005

They obviously did 3 shows for Vertigo in Saitema for a total attendance of over 60,000. Of note though, they originally planned for the Yokohama Nisson Stadium which holds over 70k it was postponed (according to U2 gigs) and these shows replaced it. Nisson is outdoors though, seems like it would be pretty cold that time of year. Also there is still the indoor Tokyo Dome (holds 55,000) if the JT stage did not fit Saitema. I wonder if the Saitema rumor started because it was where they played the last time they played Japan. All stadium shows prior to Vertigo were done at the Tokyo Dome by U2.
  4. Saitama does look quite big. It's such a cool venue. They can make it into an arena and even a theatre by moving entire blocks of seats.

If I was to start creating rumours (and I won't be!!) I would base them on something more substantial than the anniversary of a one way twitter exchange between a fan group and the band's management.

    Hey Mark. JD here.

Glad to see you around this neck of the woods.
  6. Sorry but this website is becoming a large part of this joke, and very quickly !!! This whole TOUR BS reflects bad on whoever runs this forum!!

PS: I heard thru a friend who has a black Labrador Dog who once happened to take a crap on Bonos front lawn who happened to overhear Bono arguing with Ali about the OZ Tour that was confirmed stuffing around with their plans for a family ski trip in the French Alps! MAKE SURE U MENTION THIS RUMOR !! ITS CREDIBLE!

It was pretty shocking to see what South Americans were asked to pay.

Yes, the prices for São Paulo 2017 were crazy for the average person.
  8. If you don't like it, don't read it. I'm not sure whether you understand the concept of a forum but generally whoever 'runs' it doesn't control the content.. That comes from other people... hence why it is called a forum

  9. Why do some people have such a hard time with this? We are just having fun speculating and talking. It's not like anybody is making travel plans based on these rumors. I can remember talking on message board about potential U2 tour dates as far back as 2001, when people were arguing about whether or not there would be a 2nd US leg. Then there was the fabled 2002 European stadium tour that, similar to this, had rumored dates and venues... and it didn't happen. u2songs has had credible sources in the past. It could end up being wrong this time, but they've proven themselves enough that when they post a rumor, people take it seriously. Maybe the tour WAS planned, and the plug was pulled for any number of reasons. MAYBE MAYBE MAYBE!!!

If you don't like speculating about rumors, don't read the RUMORS thread. Just wait until it's officially announced on u2.com... or not announced...
  10. No need for name calling.
Let's all calm down and hopefully hear something from the band soon
There is definitely something planned, it's just a matter of the "GO" button being pressed or not.
