Joshua Tree Tour 2019
Legs (1): New Zealand, Australia and Asia
Shows: 15
  1. With regards to RedZone on the previous legs of TJT Tour where is the best place to be? Near the main stage or satellite (tree) stage? I'm splashing out on these tickets and I want to make sure I get my money's worth
  2. I'd say it's very dependant on the band. A friend was investigating concert tickets in Asia by looking at the price of The Backstreet Boys. Turns out the front-of-stage GA's were very expensive at shows she looked at in Europe too. Same for plenty of artists, but never for U2. Hoping this will be the case this time around too.

Muse played Saitama in 2013, it GA was standing. Rail looks a long way from the main stage though.

Looks like the GA floor is often divided into multiple sections. Here's a couple of floor plans Vertigo.

Up near the tree is the best, where the catwalk joins the tree also quite good.

On the main stage, the band is set up to perform on the other side of the catwalk, in front of GA (not RZ). Of course they'll move over in front of RZ on occasions, but not that often.

The main stage is also very high, around 8-9 feet. The catwalk slopes down quite quickly from the main stage to the height of the b-stage, which must be around 4 feet. The corner between the main stage & the catwalk is pretty bad. As the catwalk is very high at this point it blocks views of the band on the main stage. (Note: for the pic below, this is not where the band perform from. You can see Bono's mic stand on the far right hand side of the image)

The area up near the b-stage will give you very good views of the visuals on the main screen, & obviously you'll be pretty close to the band when they perform on the b-stage (though, depending on your location, you may be looking at their backs).

Just be aware that in 2017 there was a boom camera setup for the b-stage on the RZ rail. This effected some people's view in RZ, towards the top of the tree.

This is a great video, for anyone wanting a refresher of what the JT stage looks like, if we get the JT stage Not just useful for those looking at RZ, but also those in GA or seats. Go Dallas!

It will depend on the stage shape which might or might not be the same as the 2017 tour. In that tour the best spot was at the top of the tree, yes.

    Excellent post
  6. When they say RZ is limited capacity, how big is that? Less than a hundred?
  7. I'd say around 400-500 for stadiums, a bit less for arenas. Definitely more than a hundred!

If it's the same as 2017 you get views like this from inside the tree..

  11. Radio stations said postponed til next week, seems like as good a guide as any just now.
