Thanks, Chrisssie, for emphasizing this difference between rumour and faxt. I‘ve been trying to point this out for some time, but obviously not with lasting effect on some people here. When a source says, „it is rumoured“ - then this source does NOT say „U2 will play“... if you don‘t respect this difference in statements, you create hype based on false information. Until an official announcement uncertainty is still our guiding light.

I disagree on this one. The media doesn't usually report what is going on with fan sites and the like. It's not very often anything in the realm of rumour gets picked up and reported. And usually if it is and it is public information, it's done with the source named so if it doesn't happen they are off the hook.
We have been told that the tour was communicated to the media last week in preparation for an announcement and later pulled back. So chances are there's lots of discussion in Australia now which has nothing to do with what has been printed on the internet. One radio station there even went on the air talking about the tour as if it had already been announced, assuming the announcement had been made.
And even if that isn't the source, there are employees at the venues who are discussing the tour and who is coming. There are employees with Live Nation discussing the announcement. It's more likely that the rumours in Australia are coming from those sorts of things.
The tour has also been reported on in Australian press in regards to Elton John's issues with finding a house. The leak of information on Ticketmaster was surely seen by press and media.
But some of the above requires you to believe that a tour is actually happening and being communicated, which I do understand that many do not believe at this stage.

Thats not true, at least not in Germany. If our fan site U2tour.de posts anything new, you can be sure its in the online Version of Rolling Stone magazine the next day latest

Don't get me wrong...I believe on these rumours and I believe this tour is coming. I just wanted to say that that's no news to us because we already know that the 22/23 are are rumoured to be the Sydney dates.

I won’t go ( I will see them in Melbourne or Singapore ) and I live in the Eastern Suburbs 10 mins away from the ground. It’s an appalling venue for concerts with the outer stands so far away from the action u may as well be on a balcony in Paddington listening - and probably see as much ! Also they do not have concerts as loud as other locations , and a strict AF curfew on a finish time because of ‘said’ snooty nosed Paddington residents.
Surely they are working thru whatever issue it is that’s preventing them from booking ANZ Stadium!
Secondly the ‘faux’ rumours verses ‘real’ rumours ? Really it’s getting silly now , it’s a regional paper ( the editor is probably a fan and member of this or another forum, it’s not based on ANYTHING solid!!)

Having polls or the like as U2Start has on its homepage for a tour that doesn’t exist YET doesn’t help ur cause !!
Do you plan to attend a U2 show in New Zealand, Australia or Asia in 2019?
Yes, I will
No, too expensive / far away
No, not interested in this tour
I haven't decided yet
Where is the 5th option ??
No, because the tour was a rumour that fell over at the last minute!
