1. Well taping is a hobby I think is more for people who attend more gigs and also more than one artist they might only see every few years. For those who go to one gig in 3 years, it's maybe not the right hobby. You need to have a nerdy clinge to that kind of stuff I guess. To at least remember settings and things to do when you can only tape every now and then.

That's what I think. I LOVE going to concerts of different kinds and I tape all of them. For me. Because I want that memory on the shelf.
If something is really good - I release it (not many yet, I admit but I have heard worse U2 recordings out there, than the quality of those I do not release. Also I do not know if there is any demand for them, sometimes they are on the NAB list on dime).
One of the nicest actually was my very first recording, with internal mics, placed in the belly bag....it can work out.

Still - an average listenable recording is better than no recording at all. Sometimes I think people put much too high expectations on such live recordings. We're doing it for the fun and memory of it, not to compete with a 48 track digital recording system the band uses....

I tape every show I attend which resulted in like 42 recordings this year. I only failed once completely with getting no recording at all.
That doesn't mean I would get out of a U2 concert with a recording that most people would say is good or great.

(That's a difference too - to me there is no season or off season - there is concerts and no concerts. I don't look at U2 being more important in my Concert history than other bands.)
  2. Just listening to the sample there on my phone, sounds good. I think every u2 fan should take the opportunity to listen to 59 year old Bono belt out Pride, if any u2starter can sing that well at that age then I’d like to hear them.
  3. anyone know how to decode and get the physical files of the songs on a Mac? I am using the new software FYI.
  4. Thank you
    Not MEGA please!
    Mediafire is better.

Haha yes, I do agree. I give the Hewson boy a hard time too often -and not only vocally- but to realize he's still belting out some of the highest notes in his business when he's just about to turn 60 years old is fucking impressive.

Now if he only sung the right words........
  6. I am having trouble downloading the files off of Mega. I have three times and it says the files are corrupted. Would you be able to put those into mediafire when you have the chance? I would really love to hear this show! Thanks.
