1. That's bullshit. Titanic was 3h15m long and was released on DVD and VHS, same go for hundreds of movies longer than U2's concerts.
  2. Just resubscribed for the Berlin show and Sydney stream.

I saw the full Berlin show a couple times while it was still on YouTube and the individual songs that are still on there. Man, I gotta say what a show/movie.

I love the editing (lines that come in and make it a multi shot, close ups of edge switching effects or Larry’s foot on the bass drum), I might be in minority but I adore what they did with Stay. Was really cool to have an intimate moment with just the band in black and white then full color and crowd during the “Oh’s”.

But the main thing is the set list. From the MRI to Joey Ramone, I was IN! The set list is fantastic. The new songs are incredibly placed and even the warhorses were exciting when they played them.

Sorry for the rant, just really impressed with it all.

I'm glad you like it that much, Marty. Definitely in the minority regarding Stay, but credit where credit's due: you're right that it's technically a very good movie, it's very well shot and -besides the darkness problem- it's a better video release than mostly anything they've put out since Sydney 93.

Bar the OST... titanic surely didnt have LPCM audio only DD And DTS which as compressed formats do , take lot less Space
But sure if they really wanted they could squeez Breathe on RosÄ™ Bowl etc

It is pretty dark, but I felt like the show was dark itself. Not sure how much editing was done to make it more dark than it already was. I guess, to me, it made it feel even more like a movie/show than a concert because of that.

I finally got around to watching this. I wanted to wait until I had some time (didn't know that this would be the reason I had so much time...) to really sit and watch the show. I really am impressed with the whole production.

I saw them in Boston, but this feels like a completely different show despite all similar pieces. Whatever they do with Stay is always great for me. They could have filmed it from the parking lot and that would still be great.

Personally, I really enjoyed Dirty Day. I'd seen fan videos on YouTube, but this one really came together with the way it was filmed for this.
  7. Is Berlin the best U2 concert film?
  8. I’ll expand by saying stay is my favourite song which is featured,AB my favourite album which is quite heavily featured, my 2 favourite song from SOE are on it (love is bigger and lights of home), and the other songs from that album they played I like. There’s plenty other things I liked as well but I guess people that prefer JT to AB and aren’t the biggest fans of SOE won’t think it’s there best.
  9. Maybe from filming point of view, but in my opinion EI wasn't the best tour. I rather watch Zoo, Popmart, Boston and Paris films (admit: I never watch the encore of Paris)
  10. I feel like the songs are placed really well. I never felt bored watching it. Even the Elevation-Vertigo-Real Thing section is fun because it’s sandwiches between Horses and Acrobat.

The new songs are great too. I really like Best Thing acoustic following Acrobat. Pride after Summer of Love. Ahhh I just really enjoyed the film, particularly the set list
