1. I mean, if the solo for Invisible was a pre-recorded Backing Track, pretty sure they can just play the rhythm guitar over the PA.

  2. If any of you are interested and have not heard it before... 21 days left to listen from date of this post.

This is a great interview with Edge and radio DJ Roger Scott who sadly passed away not long after this was recorded.
He was a great pioneer for us to hear great music in the UK. Late night Scott on Sunday on BBC Radio 1 was where I heard some of the fantastic music I now have in my collection. His radio shows were as good as the standard set by the late John Peel, Annie Nightingale and Mark Radcliffe. Wonderful radio days! All captured on tape as broadcast (see below)...

Interviews and spontaneous band 'pop ups' on radio/tv, of which there are many more just like these ranging from 1979 to 2001 when it all went digital for me (of which there is also an abundance right up to this year).
  3. the Edge's hat seems quite boring to me after the years...
  4. For someone who never seemed to age, Edge looks quite old in that picture
  5. He usually does his beard but l guess cause of Quarantine. Same happened to me. And with all of the hair salons closed people couldn't get their dye fix.

Totally agree .. would add so much body to their live stuff. I wonder which band member has the narcissistic trait ‘thou shall not share the stage with another musician’ ?

I also enjoyed most live songs B man played rhythm on in fact most or my all time fav live tracks , Last Night on Earth , Gone , The Fly , Angel of Harlem ( Sydney) , Stay (Sydney) , One ( Sydney ) , Dirty Day ( Sydney ) WOWOY ( JT 87 ) etc. etc
  7. In fact on most of those songs i mentioned above Bono played one make and model guitar, a gorgeous *Wide Bodied Gibson ES-175 Hollow Electric* ( Single Sharp cut away) guitar in 3 colours :

1)The famous Black version with the phrase “I FEEL GOOD” written in white on the underside of the guitar.

2 & 3) A Cherry Red Custom with a silver sparkle finish plus a Deep Blue one, also a custom with the silver sparkle finish.
I believe he had a fourth version/colour also that was seen only once or twice only during the early Outside Broadcast Zoo Tv First Leg.

I got to hold in my hands the Red Version way back during the Popmart Tour.

A gorgeous guitar ... envious i am to this day!

  9. U2 have just donated €200,000 to "Songs from an empty room" an event taking place in Ireland tonight where bands are playing in empty venues and broadcast on TV and online to make money for the Irish music industry which is struggling due to the Corona situation like every other country. They have recorded "something special" which will be broadcast later this evening
