The thing is though.. Begging You has the exact same tempo as Discotheque, this is where both kick drums start
  2. I mixed Fools Gold with Mysterious Ways for example, but had to alter pitch and tempo of MW around 10% (semitone lower and 13 bpm faster). That's sort of the max I can do and still make it sound natural.

But the Begging You drumtrack I could just overlay on the Discotheque one, completely equal time-wise.. This could mean that Larry played along to a BY drum sample or he re-created it himself (which apparently was common practice on Pop)..
  3. To make the "influence" a bit more clear I mixed the 2 together.. Matched the moment where both drummers kick in and for the first 30 seconds it's both Larry and Reni (and you don't even notice)

Mani even said he met Bono and joked that they stole the beat of Begging You apparently
  4. ^ That's the mix I did today of Begging You and Discotheque. And this would be the other one I did earlier, of Fools Gold with Mysterious Ways:

  6. I was just listening to the debut when I saw this thread....brilliant album. Just managed to get Garage Flower but haven't heard it yet....

  7. LOL
  8. That's pretty bad but honestly his vocal performance was just like that when I saw the Stone Roses back in the 90s so it's nothing new really.
