Interesting. Do you think it's due to loss of hearing (similar to why Edge has his high's bumped up) ?
  2. I wonder how much of the hi-hat and general kit bleed through the headphones. The drum kit is pretty damn loud in general, so maybe Larry just wants more of the timing with kick/snare and metronome. Not sure?

Edge certainly took a sharp boost around 3.2khz starting in 2015, cranked the attack on the guitar. I agree, likely due to hearing loss. It's amusing to compare his feed with Dallas', which is the same feed without the 3.2khz boost.

  3. Yes I know. I was teasing you a little bit. There are many other shows with multiple IEM recordings, and many that are mixed together. I doubt this show would make that good of a mix since Nuno's recording has a lot of static and is overloaded on levels if I recall.

Yeah for Larry I don't see the point in having anything else (drum-wise) than the metronome because the drum kit itself surely bleeds through the IEMs in a notable way. Most drummers I know have little (or no) drum sound in their monitors because their own instrument's volume acts as a natural monitor.

I find it surprising, and certainly sad, that Larry has so little of the band mixed in. It's the n-th proof that he doesn't give a shit anymore It'd be great to hear a sample if you happen to have some Larry IEM around though.
  5. I think the last time I recorded Larry's straight feed was in 2016 Dreamforce. Even when I had extra channels to play with at later shows, I would usually run backups of the key feeds instead. I'll see if I can't dig something up next time I have all the drives out.

Wouldn't it be kinda risky to boost the highs if you're starting to get hearing-loss?
  7. As long as he doesn't crank the volume on the IEMs.

Which I doubt he practices good volume management, but hey, when you're the Edge, you gotta hear the guitar during a concert.

Except for the You're The Best Thing and Invisible solos

No worries, it's just pure curiosity. If you can it'll be great.

Guess Joe is part of that as well?
  11. Volume management would be keeping his earpieces and beltpack at a reasonable SPL level.
