It doesn’t need to be Pop OR AB though they’ve got big anniversaries in different years so could do both. One different live gig for an AB30 set would make it worth it. They would probably do a 2cd version like they’ve done with JT and ATYCLB so it wouldn’t just need to be for the die hard fans and then the bigger sets would probably be similar to the content on the 20th anniversary set just like JT but with the live show as well. There’s definitely a market for it especially when the 20th anniversary AB sets are so expensive now. I wouldn’t need to think twice about buying AB30 vinyl and cd boxsets this year comparable to the JT and ATYCLB ones, the same for a Pop set next year. They could end up being their only commercial releases in these next couple of years. If boxsets are the only way to even get one live show each time I’ll take it.
  2. I love POP, my fav album and was lucky enough to see two of the shows. The band were at their coolest and most experimental around this time... 95-97. If we did ever see a deluxe edition it would just be B sides, remixes and Mexico so what’s the point... saves us moaning and getting disappointed.

I don’t think it would be Mexico if it was a live cd since they already did hasta la vista with the fanclub. They could do something like Rotterdam which already has a few tracks from it released or Edmonton. I was thinking this the other day about AB in fact as I’ve always mentioned Washington but a few songs from New York, Yankee stadium have been released so maybe that full show could be included. I think we’ve just got too used to them not releasing live stuff in the past that we don’t think they’ll do it now but they’ve been getting better with live stuff lately. It would have been very easy for them say to just put a cd of the Paris show with the JT30 set but they picked a different show, ATYCLB was a step back but they have now released 2 shows from that tour on cd and dvd. The fanclub has had a lot of live tracks over the last decade rarities and a lot of different songs not just the same one from loads of different shows I think we’re all just expecting the worst and I know the band will never want to release hundreds of live shows but I think it’s pessimistic to think they wouldn’t release a different show from zoo tv, Popmart even vertigo in the future. They’ve even released 2 shows from the boy tour. It‘s not unthinkable that they do a Pop set with a different show.
  4. at least we have an anniversary of the anniversary discussion every week
  5. Just until there’s something better u2 related to talk about lol.
  6. yeah, it's a bit of gooseberry season when it comes to U2 (and live music in general).. always a good time to go back to older music and older shows (or different artists). There are so many great bootlegs out there, and so little time.. yesterday I watched Achtungpop's Paris '97 mix (one of those amazing European PopMart shows) and now I'm watching Belfast '97. That one is almost unwatchable but still very enjoyable. Totally crazy audience and a very good performance. There are so many things of Pop and PopMart (and of course also other albums and tours) out there to discover or rediscover, that I don't even think about wasting money on any anniversary edition But I can understand some feel different about that and like to speculate about it.

For JT ‘20 u2 released Paris ‘87 live on dvd without streets, so maybe They could suprise us with something nice and not available as a soundboard bootleg.
For Popmart and zoo tv enough
  8. Brazil,Chile and Argentina were all broadcast on TV during the Popmart tour and were incredible as the crowds were so energetic and the band really fed of their energy, one of those shows remastered would be a definite contender to be part of a boxset (if it was up to the fans),Bono said the gig in Chile was one of the best concerts of the tour so hopefully they consider some of those gigs.
  9. What about Popmart Leeds?

..yesterday I watched Achtungpop's Paris '97 mix .. Could you point me to that/those?
  12. I meant amazing European shows, not amazing video's of European shows. Paris is probably the best available multicam of the European tour.
