He used the F-word quite a bit as well on PopMart.. 'Tiffany's with those fucking palmtrees', 'Fuck the rain', 'Fuck the past, kiss the future', 'Good night, fuck off' only just a few from the top of my head. 'This is fucking great' just before saying 'don't you hate it when popstars swear on stage, I hate that'. The middle finger to George Harisson. And what about MoFo? I think the swearing was more of 90's thing or maybe even a Bono thing in general, than a Zoo TV specific thing. Didn't he even get in trouble with it at some point? I vaguely remember something like that, but don't know what it was exactly.

Oh yeah he's always been foulmouthed, no doubt. I didn't remember that much swearing in Popmart but I'm sure it happened. I just get the feeling that swearing happened more often (and more "naturally" if that makes sense) in Zoo TV.

Where is "Good night, fuck off!" from though? I don't remember that one

    Roundhay Park,28th August 1997 - after the last tune,’Rain’......’thank you,goodnight,f*ck off’

Same show as the ‘..going back to Tiffany’s,with those big f*cking palm trees. We brought a few palm trees with us,you’ll see them later.Anyway,I hope you like all this sh*t ‘cos you paid for it...’

  4. lol, you're right. Didn't remember this even though it's one of the best Popmart gigs (and recordings). What an incredible way to end a gig. I wonder hoy many in the crowd took it seriously.

I absolutely love this Leeds gig. One of the first Popmart bootlegs I downloaded and it left a lasting impression. Listened to it so many times.

Live on radio as well, great work by the B-Man.
  7. Yeah I know. The satellite connection with Bill Carter in Sarajevo that night wasn't particularly striking (the live translation to Hungarian kinda killed the flow of the connection - which was usually not good to begin with!) but they were really close geographically!

I think most were just wondering where that beautiful version of Rain came from. That was quite a surprise (pre internet era).

All PA’s hanging from the stage should be orange.
