1. I've made fun of it a lot, but it's a great song. I particularly like the piano version they've done on recent tours.

  2. Clearly Edge could only be bothered bringing one guitar to Whistle Test - haven't ever seen Pride on the Les Paul! This sort of thing has definitley been covered before but I can't remember where, e.g. Country Gentleman good Pride at PopMart LV and the SG for Beautiful Day at one or two JT30 shows, but can anyone think of any other times the "wrong" guitar was used?

A strat for I Will Follow on Lovetown also springs to mind
  3. I always think of the Les Paul and Ebow used for WOWY at the end of the ZOO TV tour in place of the sustainer guitar

He also used his SG during vertigo at an EI show because Tele was acting up

He used the SG for vertigo in 2017

  5. Here's an interesting case of using the wrong guitar. Dallas 2017. He plays BD, Elevation and IWF in a row, all with the SG!!
  6. Interesting “game” would be which song has the most diversity when it comes to guitars used over the years?
  7. I'd probably go with something like Electric Co which has 3 I can think of, One and Pride also have 3 but Pride's various have been one-offs rather than solid leg/tour- long stints. I Will Follow has definitely been regularly played on 3 (strat on Lovetown, Les Paul on PopMart), and on a couple other guitars as a one off... I'm genuinely struggling apart from those to think of any that have regularly been played on more than 2 different guitars (aside from acoustic/electric arrangements like Stay or Wild Horses), also not counting various iterations of guitars e.g. Les Pauls for One, various strats for Found, Streets, Pride etc
  8. So for Stuck in a moment, I can think of 2 strange exceptions:

David Letterman 2001- New York/Stuck- used Explorer
    MTV Awards 2001- Elevation/Stuck- SG

There was an occasion or two where Edge used a strat on the 2017 tour for IWF. Bono made a big deal of mentioning the fact that it was the first time Edge had ever used a Strat for that song, which we guitar nerds know to be false.
  9. We've discussed this in the Guitar thread and also in the U2 Guitarists facebook group. In my opinion WOWY is probably the right answer, because he's insistently used 4 "main" guitars (aka different models of Fender Stratocaster are counted as just one main guitar): cream Les Paul with e-bow, Fernandes JS1, different Fender Stratocasters, Fernandes Native Pro.

Not to mention one-off performances with loaned gear like this

  10. I saw this on some random site a couple days ago, wasn't expecting it to become front page news....

Anything played on a strat will probably win this competition
