1. Midlife crisis
  2. this is real?

  3. Their what?
  4. I see where he’s coming from. It’s like when you hear your voice on a home video or something and you kind of cringe. Or imagine the people on here who are in their 30s, 40s, 50s, or 60s and looking back at poems or songs written when they were 16/17/18.

I don’t think he hates being in U2 or think their songs are bad, I think he’s just looking at things as an old man vs angsty teenager

I have a notebook of songs I’ve written all the way back to age 14 (currently 28) and boy if those were ever recorded or distributed I’d cringe too, even if other people liked it lol Almost like looking at Facebook statuses from 10-15 years ago. It might have a ton of “likes” and comments but sometimes you’re just thinking to yourself “this is cringey”

Yeah I get that but I don't understand why he has to go public with it he said similar things on The Late Late show last year and you just think WTF does he feel the need to do that ,the press and begrudgers are jumping on this as if it vindicates what they've been saying all along .It's a complete U turn on the sound bites he used to give like "We've made the greatest album ever" "God walked in the room and gave us the songs"
"We're reapplying for the job of best band in the world " must be a midlife crisis he is having
  6. I honestly believe that Bono has developed anxiety over the last handful of years. He was once a confident and snarky showman until the end of IE in my opinion. To me, these sound bites and interviews and even the way he’s sang from 2016-today almost feels timid. Like he doesn’t want to be viewed poorly? Idk hard to explain, but I just feel like he’s dealing with something on the inside.

“I wake at 4 in the morning, where all the darkness is swarming, and it covers me in fear.”
  7. Shame he doesn't get embarrassed when he hears U2's last few albums.... Maybe then things would start to improve...

Absolutely agree. I think it has to do with the open heart surgery he had for the health scare back in late 2016 or early 2017. I was at the Vancouver Premier of JT17 and there was talk among the band's own security of how nervous the band were and how nervous Bono was...
  9. look, I don't like to speculate and I don't live with bonO, but it is true that he has been seen as shy and has indirectly revealed his insecurities in recent years
