Got me thinking that U2 should do something similar for the Slane gigs for the 25th or 30th anniversary. Yes I know we have had the DVD and fanclub audio of Slane 2 mainly but I bet they have a load of footage from Slane 1 and behind the scenes stuff which they could compliment with fan submitted amateur video of the day and memories for a good docu.
Don't get me wrong, I love the Slane gig but I would think something from the ZooTV would merit this kind of celebration first.

Yes but Slane was a huge seminal occasion for U2 , ala Knebworth for Oasis...hence the idea.
  3. I see your point but feel that Slane has gained momentum as time has passed. Maybe I wasn't paying attention at the time (I thought I was, however) but I didn't know all that much about Slane until the DVD was released.

I knew about Knebworth (and ZooTV) as it was happening.
  4. I'm digging that new LG song

U2 had played so many landmark concerts before Slane from Red Rocks to Croke Park from Wembley stadium to Yankee Stadium that some folk just thought of Slane as another big gig .Knebworth was broadcast live on Radio and was hyped up by the British press who saw them as a modern day Beatles, however Oasis rise to super stardom was extremely fast so for them to be playing to such massive crowds so early into their career was a huge achievement that nobody thought was possible.
  6. Just saw Liam is touring here. Hopefully this time the power won't be cut.
  7. The Brit Awards performance wasn't half bad either. Best Liam vocals I've heard since......... the previous century?

  8. The earlier you can see him on your the better.
  9. I watched the Brit Awards live. I wasn't blown away by it. Just a typical modern day LG performance.
  10. Massive headline show in Dublin (surprising location btw).

  11. For what is worth, the children are absolutely digging the song. The chorus is Taylor Swift like. But I actually don't mind, and neither do the kids. I kind of look forward to the rest of the album. And also to Noel's album. Has anyone listened to this?

    I think it's a real little gem!
