    I think your list is right on the money except that City of Blinding Lights will 100% be on there.

  8. Not sure what I would delete but I say The Unforgettable Fire and Stuck in a Moment are 2 of the 40. Especially Stuck because of Bono's friendship with Michael Hutchence and the song being about him. I also add that The Fly is one of the chapters / tracks from Achtung Baby....this whole thread is a timely reminder of how awesome and vast U2's catalogue really is.. Breathe could be a chapter too. This whole exercise has the makings of the most robust U2Start poll ever!

I would not be surprised if the the initial release is a greatest hits done acoustically designed for the commercial market, it is a music business requirement nowadays, resell the hits but in a different format. Where the forty songs might come in will be on deluxe / collectors releases for the die hards
