1. From what we have been told, they plan on putting out another album of new material early next year, ahead of looking at the Songs of Ascent material again. (I.e. they are still talking about finishing that material some day, but are doing something else first.)
  2. Crystal ballroom and Lucifer’s hands. Someone had said the bonus tracks from SOI weren’t on YouTube so I did some checking and they were till you posted the picture showing they aren’t where you’re from.

I am talking Twitter , comment sections of various news press , FB Instagram and in every one them idiots are still bringing up Applegate.

Someone said on here the other that the Apple Incident wont leave a lasting impression or any negativity on any legacy they have (left). Well i am here to tell you it absolutely has and ur completely delirious to think other wise.

You only have to search #U2 on twitter any given day and tens of ppl will be whinging about it or hating on the band in general!

It's funny how this Applegate is still seen as a "bad thing" about U2, as far as I know Apple paid for U2 to release the album this way, they should criticize the company, not the band. I ever disregard all the thing that comes from Twitter because it's a socia media that rewards people who talks any bad thing about every thing without a basic critical sense.

Yeah well, it probably wasn't Apple knocking on U2's door in the first place, right? The company sure had their share of guilt but the band's everlasting quest for notoriety -especially after NLOTH's "fiasco"- was the biggest factor.

if you have a band and one of the greatest companies in the world - without necessity - wants to buy the rights to your songs to share with a significant number of users and probably reach a niche you wouldn't normally reach, i'm thinking if another else band would deny. it's not like Bono begged the apple owner to do this good deed.
  6. You talk as if you were in the room when they closed the deal.
  7. Bono: buy my songs and put on your cellphones, please
    Tim Cook: how much?
    Bono: $100 million dollars
    Tim Cook: ok

Bono: you promise me there won't be any backlash, right?

Tim Cook: 'f course not! Everybody loves Apple and everybody loves music. What can possibly go wrong.

if U2 (bono and edge) actually decide not to play a song/set/concert in support of a good cause then maybe they'll get more respect by doing that as it can appear that the band (bono and edge) will turn up for anything including the opening of an envelope

being cool is not churning out transient rhetoric ad infinitum - that's something that politicians do

now if the band (bono and edge) don full military gear and fight on the front line then maybe just maybe people won't be so sick of the hackneyed pacifist platitudes because rock'n'roll hasn't changed the world one iota (unfortunately)

to paraphrase an old song - no song or singer has ever stopped a bullet from a gun

applegate - if any 'real' fan thinks u2 had nothing to do with that then they need to reevaluate their relationship with reality
  10. No one is saying u2 wasnt involved. What some are trying to get across is apple, not u2, should have taken majority of the criticism. Also, yes, rock and roll has changed the world.
