1. Liking the sound of One personally! Just out of curiosity, might be a daft question but is there a chance that Bono might be playing some guitar on this album? Even if it’s just basic strumming?
  2. We'll have to wait for the linear notes.
  3. I like the clip of One..like a cross between the Pavarotti and Friends version and a lullaby instrumental I used to play for my kids over 20 years ago

It sounds fairly primative. It very well could be him.

  7. Based on the Audiobook snippets these are way more interesting and releasing them as a single probably would draw more attention as a lot of casual people would consider them as a “new” u2 songs not remakes

If you ask anyone what are U2’s big songs, “With Or Without You”, “One”, “Beautiful Day” and “Pride” are all going to be common answers.

What songs have we heard for promotion of the album so far? I think they are making sure to let people know the biggest hits are all here…

It’s a bad strategy because this release isn’t going to appeal to anyone but die hard fans and even a lot of the die hard fans aren’t enjoying the songs so far. It’s like they’ve thought they are playing it safe and in reality it couldn’t be any further from the truth. The safest move would be releasing all the obscure ones first and at least giving themselves half a chance to appeal to the people that either weren’t that interested in the first place (but would still listen because u2 are their band) and appeal to those that love the classics the way they are but see more room for improvement with the obscure stuff, or at least are more open to hearing an alternative of the obscure tracks. I think worldwide the number of casual fans that are going to listen to and like the songs released so far would be less than 4 figures. 4.7k likes for with or without you on YouTube so far, that’s embarrassing for one of their biggest songs. I just hope they don’t hold off the album of brand new material for any reason, I think a lot of us need it right now.

Yeah but what about these songs being added to certain playlists on Apple Music and Spotify? A casual fan would more likely hear the hit and say “I know this song but it’s a bit different!” and maybe they add it to a playlist of their own. Or stream the original.
