  3. If you take into account ticket sales, ticket prices, sales in relation to inflation and the market at the time of the tour, then Coldplay can't sniff U2's success. It is not even close. In the last 8 or 9 years they may measure as more successful, but 30 years from now, they likely will not have had the historical impact or respect U2 has.

    Which is exactly why they are perfect for a show like the sphere. U2 is at their best when they are stripped down. Well, not SOS stripped down but technologically - you know what I mean.

    IIRC it was around the time that Bono called Chris Martin a wanker, so around NLOTH release. 14 years ago!
