1. Lyrics wise and musical composition wise it doesn't come nowhere near the excellence of 11 O'clock Tick Tock.
  2. If this is the best album of 2023, then musical landscape is in a pretty dire situation.
  3. Miles above anything u2 released in the last decade.
  4. Lol......There's not a single song in this album of the level of U2's The Little Things That Give You Away or Moment of Surrender.

    Whatever you say.
  6. The lyrics of Hearing Voices.....

I think I spoke too soon
It's time to clear the air
    It's quiet in my room
    The silence is unfair
    I've been hearing voices
    None of them are you
    I've been hearing voices
    None of them are you
Late at night, I tell myself
Nothing this good could last forever
    No one cries like you
    No one cries like you
    I've been hearing voices
    I've been hearing voices now
    I've been hearing voices
    None of them are you
    None of them are you
    None of them are you
    None of them are you
I've seen you in the moon
I wish that you were here
    You promised me your word
    A whisper in my ear
    Every night, I tell myself
Nothing like you could last forever
    No one cries like you
    No one cries like you
    No one lies like you
    No one lies like you
    I've been hearing voices
    I've been hearing voices now
    I've been hearing voices
    None of them are you
    None of them are you
    None of them are you
    None of them are you
    Speak to me, my love
    Speak to me, my love
    I've been hearing voices
    None of them are you
    I've been hearing voices
    None of them are you
    Speak to me, my love
    Speak to me, my love

....... Now please compare those childish lyrics with the genius lyrics of Moment of Surrender and the sheer class of Bono as lyrical master is crystal clear.

You’re a troll. A bad one too. I won’t even bring up the numerous garbage lyrics that bono has written in his career. There are no bands that have never released a bad song. None. It’s impossible to have a discussion about music with someone who only listens to one band and is incapable of critiquing that one band. It’s pathetic
  8. I want to be clear. My top 2 bands are Pearl Jam and u2. No question. Foos aren’t even in my top 10. I haven’t dug a foo album since wasting light. But I could easily admit this album is better than anything EITHER u2 or Pj has released in the last decade.

Within a song's many lines, Bono may put one or two line with not so class from time to time but the overall lyrics of any given song written by Bono is thematically so coherent and thought out !!

Wtf does this have to do with the original statement about ALBUMS. You bring up 2 songs from the past 15 years as an argument and then lyrics. In all my years of being on different forums ( crazy I know, I listen to more than one band) I’ve never run into this kind of mentality.

You know you can still like U2 and not bash other bands, it doesn’t mean you like U2 any less if you just shut up. Foo Fighters have been the most successful rock band come out of the last 25 years, we are lucky to have them. And to take a song that’s built around melodic sensibilities, and an emotion, and try to turn it into a book report about the lyrics is pretty sophomoric.
