Ah @justinpushplay I now get it.. just looked up the video you posted, sorry for "stealing" your art, happy to credit you if you made this. What audio did you use because I used yours then

No need to apologize. Just needed art for the video I uploaded so I made some. Spread it all you want lol
  3. Bono's 2003 Vocal mixed with the Studio version of Night And Day:

  4. Melon51, Bono's vocal on this sounds very vulnerable on this.
  5. @miryclay His 2003 timing is more "jazzy", which makes him sound more melancholic I think. I have the vocal track aligned with the '90 vocal and it's interesting to hear/see the differences.

It actually took quite a lot to get it to sound like this. The live vocal had way more dynamic than the studio version, so it would be either too soft or overpowering. But I like it as a different "interpretation" of the song I guess.

Edit: I did 2 alternate versions yesterday on which the vocals sound different (in the mix). Might post those here later, would be interesting to see which you like best
  6. @miryclay Checked back, and found an alternate version (#7 out of the 9) which is interesting. It has slightly different timing and has a vocal EQ applied to the whole track .. Curious which version you like better:

  7. A little (3D) experiment with the Velvet Dress Vocal to make Bono sound like he's "singing around" the listener:

  8. Sound Test to try and "3D" Larry for once instead of the singer:

  9. What do you mean by 3D? Just want to know what I’m trying to listen for. Thanks!
  10. @adrian73, thanks, this one came out surprisingly well I guess. Finding that "3d" spot is kinda tricky but I love this one, has a kind of 'hypnotizing' feel to it.
  11. Sure. It's basically an audio trick to make something sound like it's "around you", aka "3D". I read about it a while ago and experiment with it sometimes.

With Velvet Dress the vocal is double-tracked. Vocal #1 is panned left and #2 is panned right, with a slight delay. That "lateness" to the right ear is kind crucial though to get the vocal filling your head, can be anywhere between 25-100ms. So it's a bit of trial and error sometimes
