Performance

Going through the motions of a well choreographed show, ZOO TV by now had morphed into a slick production from the more sporadic experimental excitement of the early shows. Still, the energy picks up especially for the newer material and run of hits towards the end of the main set.

Sound

Recording: "ZooTV Grand Final (Vince Dome Remaster)" - 3.5 stars

Audience

Being Japan, a more reserved crowd but you can hear the odd English speaking fan in the crowd - "same as last night!" someone comments as Macphisto starts his final speech.

Overall

One to have in the bootleg collection to bookend their most ambitious and artistically successful tour. As I say, a different beast to the early ZOO TV and Zooropa summer shows but that's how tours progress, by finding their identity as they travel. And for a such a tour, it ends on a whisper instead of a fanfare.

I think the setlist notes could be updated now as this isn't the last ever performance of TTTYAATW since the Sphere shows.
