Performance notes: BBC taping for Top of The Pops in front of ~200 people in the BBC car park. Live debuts of Vertigo, All Because Of You, and City Of Blinding Lights, though backing tracks were involved. Desire and She's A Mystery To Me were impromptu performances; the former was rough and electric, the latter was very stripped down and spare. The final two songs were performed indoors. what they said
"A few days after the album [Songs of Innocence] was finished, I thought Iris shouldn't be part of the album. Even though the song is a beautiful tune and everything, I just thought it was going a bit far and it's not very punk rock, singing about your mother."
