As I write these words, it is exactly 15 years since the day of the concert. I was there then, in 2009 I was 20 years old. My biggest dream at that time was to see U2 live. I couldn't afford to go abroad, so when I heard about the concert in Chorzow, I knew I had to be there. However, it was not that easy. I didn't have much money at the time, so the expense of going to the concert was a big deal for me. I started to raise money, and although I wasn't sure yet whether I would be able to buy a ticket, I started to prepare for the concert. At that time, I was constantly listening to No Line On The Horizon, Passengers Original Soundtracks 1, Pop and several other albums. When the 360° tour kicked off, I followed each concert, checked to see if it had already appeared on U2start and listened. I lived a few kilometers from the stadium, so I listened to concerts from the tour and walked around the stadium area. I managed to get a ticket at the last minute, just 2 weeks before the concert. That coveted ticket was more precious to me than anything else. A few days before the concert, I strolled in front of the stadium and watched the stage grow. At the time, the Slaski Stadium was so small that the stage towered over it. The long-awaited day finally arrived. I lined up on the north side of the stadium. I had a ticket for the plate, so some 12 hours before the concert I was already in front of the stadium. Likewise, I similarly calculated where best to stand to see everything well. On the one hand, I wanted to be close to the stage, so I could see the band, but I also wanted to see the video screen and visuals. The hours dragged on mercilessly. Finally, about 2 hours before the gates opened, something started to happen. People started lining up. It was the longest 2 hours of my life, standing, in the baking sun. Finally, they opened the gate. Security check, ticket scanning, and I'm on the other side. I ran through the tunnel to the slab, to take a picture of the stage in all its glory. I positioned myself the way I wanted. Close to one of the legs of the massive structure. I could see the stage well, and at the same time had a good view of the screen. The concert itself was an extraordinary experience for me. It is very difficult to describe. Emotionally, this concert was the best thing that happened to me in my life. Even when I got married, when my children were born, I didn't feel such strong emotions as at the Chorzow stadium. The concert from Chorzow surpassed in quality even the next two concerts I attended in later years (Berlin 2015 and Brussels 2017). The concert seemed short. Just over 2 hours passed quickly. But leaving the stadium I felt no sadness. I felt so fulfilled that I didn't listen to a single U2 concert or song until early 2010. Today, exactly 15 years after the concert, I was in front of the stadium again. At 9 p.m. I turned on the concert recording, set the volume to maximum, and circled the stadium. The weather was almost identical to 15 years ago. I didn't think it was possible, but I managed to experience the same emotions, feel the same atmosphere, go back in time 15 years. This concert for me has never ended. It lasts and will last as long as my brain will let me remember it.
