I had a great position for both nights at the very top of the B Stage right in front of Bono's position. What impressed me about the band, which is something you never see in videos. is the way the band members have a laugh amongst each other or give each other a hard time for fluffing a particular part.
The band on night one was nervous, on night two it was more relaxed and in party mode.

Up to this concert, I had never met fellow U2 super fans (urghh, hate that saying...but hey), but the chance to experience the band with them was amazing. The audience in night one, like the band, was nervous and anxious. Night two was completely different - in party and celebration mode.
Having missed seeing U2 over the years for a variety of reasons (family, work), I made sure I got the best possible position by arriving early (4 pm) and queuing at the General Admission entrance gate. Admittedly I was nervous as I rarely go to large outdoor shows, preferring medium to small venues (reflecting my taste in music).
Once allowed into the main stadium area, I found my fellow U2 fans to be so nice and polite - a real pleasure to be around. We sat down in our positions for two hours until High Flying Birds started then we stood up.
The anticipation for U2 was incredible. When they arrived the noise was deafening but in a happy and positive sort of way.
The rest of the concert was a brilliant culmination of a lifelong love for a band I first took notice of in July 1983 and have since never looked back.
I'll probably never experience a concert series like this ever again.
It was a great moment in time for my life.

"I didn't get into the band to become a celebrity, I got into the band because I wanted to play music and write songs and tour and do all that stuff."

did you know
Get On Your Boots is about Bono taking his family on vacation to France and witnessing warplanes flying overhead at the start of the Iraq War. The chant "let me in the sound" was developed late in the recording sessions and became a theme throughout parts of the album.
