Performance

Very similar to Los Angeles, this show features a turned over setlist, starting off with "Stand by Me". While Bono does an INCREDIBLE job with the song tonight, the Edge hits a pretty nasty bum note early on. Instead of starting the show "proper" with the mighty "MLK", tonight the band immediately go into "Pride (In the Name of Love)", which also sounds terrific with both Bono and the audience sounding incredible. It is now that the moody "MLK" is played, leading straight into "The Unforgettable Fire" as usual. Both are performed extremely decently but Bono's voice starts getting a bit less stable and he additionally forgets some words during the latter song. Both "Bullet the Blue Sky" and "Running to Stand Still" afterwards are done well and solid but not outstanding performances. "Sunday Bloody Sunday" is another very spirited performance with some great audience interaction in the middle.

"Exit" is a typically aggressive rendition with another great "Gloria" snippet in the end. A tight "In God's Country" follows. The show finally picks up some pace again afterwards, beginning with a terrific rendition of "Trip Through Your Wires", including Bono flexing on his guitar and harmonica skills. The good old "Electric Co." makes a superb comeback with two great "Doors" snippets and lots of energy. "October" makes for a nice fade into "New Year's Day", which in itself is a solid performance with Bono sounding a tad bit rougher. "Gloria" is on the stronger side with some great belting during the outro. "Bad" is surprisingly strong with fantastic choruses and some truly astonishing improvising by Bono towards the end of the song!

Following a strong rendition of "Where the Streets Have No Name", the band go through a very energetic "I Will Follow", during its bridge Bono holds a brief speech, first joking that he forgot what he wanted to say but then holding a speech about the passage of time and afterwards introducing the band members. "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" features very nice audience interactions but is relatively standard from the band's perspective. Interestingly enough, tonight Bono first does the "Love Will Tear Us Apart" snippet during "With or Without You", then improvises a little before going into "Shine Like Stars" - brilliant!
