Performance

Bono sounds ROUGH at this show and I mean like he's almost back in Tempe shape but with most of his range intact. Still, many REALLY gravelly and unstable vocals with flat notes and cracks resulting; from 'Haven't Found' onwards Bono uses the infamous Kermit voice to help himself and it's not very pleasant. 'Trip Through Your Wires' is one of the few highlights as Bono goes all out in every way, celebrating the fact he can finally use both arms again.

'The Unforgettable Fire' is a truly awful performance with Bono whispering most lines and belting out random words with his awfully gravelly voice. 'Exit' is almost just as bad but Bono kinda saves it with some aggression still intact. 'Sunday Bloody Sunday' is a BIG surprise as Bono absolutely ACES it with lots of anger in his voice.
'Help!' sees Bono's falsetto giving out entirely at one point.

'People Get Ready' starts off really rough but gets a bit stronger as the song goes on. 'Bad' isn't the greatest version with Bono's voice often giving out and sounding really rough. Additionally, the song doesn't feature any snippets. Bono somehow manages to not die on 'New Year's Day' although his belting doesn't sound healthy in the slightest. 'Pride' is one of the saddest versions I've heard as Bono is barely able to belt anymore, leaving him sound tired and almost desperate against The Edge's strong backing vocals.

'Bullet the Blue Sky' continues the run of sad performances as Bono once again barely manages to keep his voice together for the duration of the song. While I wouldn't call 'Running to Stand Still' a highlight, it sure as hell sounds a lot better than most other songs at this show and even features some rare audience take over on this show. 'With or Without You' is often sung flat and again sees Bono singing like he was constipated most of the time. The Edge adds a few gorgeous licks during the intro however. '40' is BY FAR the best performance of the evening with EVERYONE going ALL out!

Sound

Most of the show is available on a pretty solid but not outstanding recording; 40 is only available on a much worse copy unfortunately.

Audience

They're barely audible on the better sounding source and generally don't seem to be as participative and captivated as most audiences on the tour.

Overall

Really fail to understand the high rating for this show.
