Performance

The show begins with a quite messy intro to 'Zoo Station' because, for some reason, Edge's guitar work is quite out of sync with the rest of the band at the start. Larry tries to make up for this with a couple of great fills but can't distract from the initial error. Luckily, the following Zoo TV tunes are all pretty great with lots of energy and mostly very tight and exciting musicianship. Bono makes multiple pre- and mid-song references to Adam's happy day. 'One' features a few dud notes around the start but is otherwise a quite fantastic rendition of the song. Unfortunately, this trend continues during 'Until the End of the World' where Edge shits the bed MULTIPLE times, creating another very messy rendition. Bono is in excellent voice the entire time, that goes for his belting and his falsetto. Great renditions of 'Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses' and especially 'Tryin' to Throw Your Arms Around the World' follow, the latter is introduced by Adam himself and features a very unique outro with some great chanting and belting from Bono and the crowd.

After a solid B-stage set, Bono misses some lines during 'Bad', quickly correcting himself and unfortunately, the Edge hits another quite bad bum note before the first chorus which Bono sings out in off-key falsetto. Kermit also makes a very unwelcome appearance here. What a damn shame. 'Bullet the Blue Sky' is one of the fastest performances of the song I've encountered, featuring very aggressive vocals by Bono on top of that. 'Running to Stand Still' is pretty solid with some nice audience takeovers and Bono sounding very sweet. 'Where the Streets Have No Name' is a big mess with everyone playing out of sync for a good while and Bono altering lyrics about opening a bottle of champagne. 'Pride' is great but unfortunately, the final song of the main set again is far from sounding perfect. Bono's adlibbing is the sole highlight of this one. The encore is truly great though and finishes the show on a high note. The finale to 'Love Is Blindness' is superb.

Sound

How did this recording get a rating of 3.5 stars? To be fair, the initial quality might be worth 2.5 stars, but there's a constant buzzing sound that absolutely makes it worse and a genuine pain to listen to at times. While being very thankful we have this show available, poor Adam deserves something more enjoyable for his last birthday show

Audience

Pretty great audience; they're cheering for every song and for Adam, singing along with new and old songs and make for a great atmosphere in general. U2 and Worcester is a match made in heaven!

I didn't have to make separate lists for High- and Lowlights in quite some time now but the few quite error-ridden songs of tonight's show, the Lowlights section has to make a comeback unfortunately.
