When you say they "Only sold 105,000 tickets"you make it sound like it's some sort of flop ,there are a lot of mid sized bands that would be lucky to sell that amount of tickets for an entire tour let alone 2 gigs in one city ,I remember during Popmart a lot of the British press were gunning for them and trying to make out the tour was a total failure yet they still ended up with one of the biggest tours of the decade playing to nearly 4 million people a feat most other bands could only dream of.
Yeh the UK press had it in for them: adopting a schadenfreude attitude seemingly wanting the band to fail
Typical UK press: happy riding on the coattails of their success but then happy to wipe their feet on that same coattail
