1. This dvd has always been special to me. It was how I hooked my son on U2 for life. He was 1 when we began watching it regularly. Now a teenager we have seen U2 together 5 times. Those songs are the soundtrack of being a dad to me.
  2. Best audio of any tour DVD, IMHO
  3. This DVD came out just as I getting into U2, I remember watching the Elevation intro and just thinking "wow this is awesome"
  4. the electric co. and an cat dubh/into the heart are the highlight of the show
  5. in terms of variety, I+E Live in Paris have 10 songs from different albums, Live Boston have 9 songs, and Live Chicago 7 songs from different albums. But i agree that Live Chicago have a great variety of type of songs.
  6. I think this is a good DVD overall. Electric Co, An Cat Dubh, Running to Stand Still, 40, Streets are great. I’ll always say the first leg (when the video was filmed) was the weakest of that tour, so I think the Vertigo Tour as a whole shouldn’t be judged by this DVD. A release of the full Milano show would represent the Vertigo Tour better, in my opinion.
  7. The HTDAAB/Vertigo era was U2 tredding water.

The two shows I saw were uninspired, they were going through the motions. Bono was out of shape, the band were dragging and it felt as if they were just copying the much superior (and amazing) Elevation tour.

The DVD sounds like shit (the drum mixing is abysmal) and the whole thing felt like a giant cash grab to me.

My first tour was Popmart, the only time U2 have ever let me down was with the simply uninspired Vertigo tour.

    No passion whatsoever.

to me weakest part was European leg - single show cities had the same or almost the same setlists - since Cardiff (in second half of the leg just Miss Sarajevo replaced RTSS and in Lisbon there was 40 instead of second Vertigo). And since Vertigo is being my least favourite tour (boring part I Still Havent - SYCMOYO and the worst versions of Pride, Streets and One ever), I count that as the worst tour leg in their history. Of course, I enjoyed the shows - Electric Co., LAPOE, Zoo Station and The Fly were really worth it - just rank other tours high

    Ah...OK...the European leg

Well, Amsterdam was nice. Three shows with a lot of variation and the first Miss Sarajevo was truly a highlight.

But I agree: the American legs were much stronger.
  10. Really?
For me it´s by far the worst Audio of all DVDs.
Very unbalanced guitar, it often sounds far away.
And mixing of bass and bass drum is so muffled.
The most expensive and professional sound-specialist U2 usually order produced total crap.
  11. They need to release this on BluRay properly formatted to widescreen. It is unwatchable on an HDTV now.
  12. One of the best sounding dvds. Great audio. The worst is Rose Bowl, in every way
