Personally first time I heard Discotheque on the radio i was very surprised and I didn’t like it at all
It’s been growing listen after listen but nowadays it’s not an album that i play start to finish
Got some real gems like Please,Wake up or Gone but I would cut it into two different mini albums
    PopTunes :
    Discotheque
    Do you feel loved
    Mofo
    Miami
    Playboy

And another one which I couldn’t title:
    Staring
    Last night
    Gone
    Please
    Wake up

I would cut off If God and Velvet dress

Btw I’ve been appreciating the PopMart in its importance for the U2 story

And I don’t mind if someone here consider it his favorite album over all

    Cheers
This is such a good comment. You can interpret and appreciate the album in any way fits you best. It shouldn’t feel forced and you shouldn’t force it if it’s not to your taste currently.

I took me a while to get into it when I first heard the album. I can appreciate all the songs on there for their own merit. However, when I listen to the songs now, I tend to listen to the newest versions i.e the Mike Hedges mixes from the Best Of 1990-2000 and the single versions (my favourite being IGWSHA)

That's a good playlist but I don't understand the inclusion of Sweetest Thing. To me it has such a different sound it doesn't fit with the rest of the songs.
  7. I can’t honestly believe a band that made music like Boy, TUF and JT makes a electronic techno dance album 10 or just over years later. The album has aged quite well in my view.
  8. POP is not pop!
Its rough, raw and needs to be played loud!
    LOVE IT!

  9. who remembers this movie? POP
