1. His voice is virtually unchanged from Bomb. A little smoother at best. He sounded better singing the Happy Birthday jig during the Mandela birthday bash. The last third of the song isnt bad.
  2. 2 covers i made for the song

the last third is where its at. his voice really isn't special until that part.

  4. I don't think its special at all. Smoother than Bomb certainly but how long will that last on tour?

I prefer this to the Mandela tribute, I think when he kicks in with the higher pitch, it's a real bolt from the blue and he's nailing the notes rather than sort of lingering about without really getting proper conviction.
  6. Problem is...he nails them now and probably nails them too when recording the album. But by the time the tour reaches Europe, his voice is all messed up.

I don't mind as long as he nails it in Rotterdam

You're probably right, altough I DO think he might have learned of the Vertigo tour...

i think his voice just gets better with time...so by the Euro tour you should be in for a treat.

  9. Respectfully disagree. Better than anything on Bomb in terms of hitting it and sticking to it in my opinion.
Possible point about the tour though...

he's had plenty of time to rest. My point about his voice being smoother is a plus point. I don't think another era in Bono's vocals has been born though.

I know where you're getting at, but I do think we should all give him a chance lol, hell this is one song - the album and any upcoming singles will probably give us more of an idea (well, will DEFINITELY give us more of an idea lol!)...
